President Donald Trump questioned reports that Egypt and the UAE warned Benjamin Netanyahu before the October 7 attack in an interview first published on October 1. The interview was conducted at the White House on September 28. Trump said he had not previously heard those reports and doubted Netanyahu would have ignored a known threat. Repeatedly asked whether Netanyahu should serve another term, he gave no direct endorsement and emphasized defending Israel and preventing Iranian nuclear weapons. Asked about Gadi Eisenkot, Trump expressed uncertainty, said he had heard nothing bad about him and cautioned against underestimating Netanyahu.
