Satellite Images Show Renewed Activity at Iran’s Minzadayi Site

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of an archival Tehran city skyline with apartment towers, a curving boulevard and Milad Tower, providing regional context rather than depicting the Minzadayi compound or its renewed activity.

Satellite imagery shows renewed vehicle movement and earthmoving at Iran’s Minzadayi compound northeast of Tehran, according to an October 6 report by the Institute for Science and International Security. The institute said Israel’s March 3 attack destroyed several buildings and likely underground structures at the nuclear-weapons-development site. After rubble removal and hillside repairs, September and early October imagery shows passenger cars and trucks inside the security perimeter. Earthmoving continues at a courtyard-like surface struck in March. The institute assesses that the activity may indicate an effort to restore nuclear-weapons-development capability; the images do not establish that weapons production has resumed.
