Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef Warns Against Voting for Parties Promoting Temple Mount Visits

Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef issued a signed letter dated October 18 warning against voting for parties and representatives who encourage visits to the Temple Mount. He argued that such visits risk grave religious transgressions and that national sovereignty does not justify encouraging conduct he regards as forbidden by Jewish law. Yosef said voters share responsibility for the activities of parties they support, citing support for Torah institutions as an example of that principle. He urged voters not to strengthen representatives promoting ascent to the site in the approaching election.
