Trump Endorses Netanyahu, Links Iran Cooperation to His Reelection

U.S. President Donald Trump endorsed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's reelection on October 18, linking his support to their cooperation against Iran. Trump praised Netanyahu's wartime leadership and warned that a different Israeli leader could leave the United States confronting Iran alone, something he said he was reluctant to do. He also threatened further action against Iran unless its conduct changed. Netanyahu thanked Trump for his election backing and said their joint work over the next two years would focus on eliminating Iran's nuclear program.
