Netanyahu Addresses Security Chiefs at Knesset Sukkah Gathering

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of Benjamin Netanyahu alone in an archival November 2020 close portrait, in a dark suit, white shirt and blue striped tie before a blue background with blurred U.S. flag stars; contextual portrait, not the October 2026 Knesset sukkah gathering.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed a gathering in the Knesset sukkah on Thursday with senior security officials, Tavor preparatory-academy students, wounded IDF soldiers and reservists’ wives. He discussed the preceding day’s attempted attack aboard a Flydubai flight to Tel Aviv and praised Yaniv Hayoun for intervening. In Netanyahu’s account, Hayoun pulled the attacker away while others restrained him, and additional pilots aboard helped stabilize and land the aircraft. Netanyahu described the passengers’ survival as a chain of miracles and divine assistance, saying the gathering could otherwise have taken place in national mourning.
