The Finance Ministry is expected to allocate about NIS 5 million to compensate Israeli airlines for loss-making flights bringing passengers home from Dubai, according to newly reported funding details. The Finance and Transport ministries reached understandings to cover flights that depart Israel empty and return with passengers affected by disruptions to Flydubai services. Passengers will still have to buy tickets, and final decisions on the funding have not yet been made. The Transport Ministry's earlier announcement confirmed the compensation agreement and required Israeli carriers to maintain fair fares during the repatriation operation.
