IDF Postpones Planned Haredi Draft-Arrest Operation After Police Concerns

The IDF has postponed a planned operation to arrest Haredi men classified as draft absentees, according to a military response published Wednesday night. The operation had been scheduled for Sunday through Tuesday of the coming week. Reports said senior police officials declined to provide Tel Aviv district support, citing concern that sustained demonstrations could extend into election day and disrupt voting arrangements. The IDF said arrests in civilian areas require coordination with police and attributed the postponement to police considerations. Police had not responded to the reports.
