Eisenkot Accuses Government of Fueling Disorder Amid Haredi Protests

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of Gadi Eisenkot, based on an archival February 2024 portrait against a plain backdrop

Yashar! chairman Gadi Eisenkot criticized the government's response to Haredi demonstrations on Thursday. He argued that unequal treatment harms Israeli society as well as national security, linking his criticism of distinctions between citizens to both social and security concerns. Eisenkot accused the government of encouraging chaos and disorder in the streets rather than strengthening the IDF. His remarks presented that contrast as a criticism of the government's priorities in its handling of the demonstrations.
